- As Colorado school boards become more politicized, here are the district elections to watch this fall | CPR
- “In Pueblo 60, four out of five school district seats are up for election and a relatively new network of churches “Forging the Future” is backing what one pastor calls four “biblically minded, strong Christian” candidates. The organization has a campaign finance committee for donations to school board and city council candidates. The organization’s registered filing agent is Quin Friberg, a pastor at the Family Worship Center in Pueblo. The organization’s website says it stands for parental rights, district transparency and calls for “God, Family and Country” to be respected in school.“

- “This election cycle, dozens of other school boards — Adams 12, Brighton 27J, Greeley-Evans 6, Pueblo 60, Thompson, Buena Vista, Cañon City, among others — have candidates who say parents don’t have enough control in schools, harbor suspicions about what’s taught, and who’ve made their opinions known about topics like transgender youth in a voter guide sent to Colorado churches to help citizens “vote according to biblical values.”

- “The first reading of a proposed policy the District is planning to adopt to address a new law requiring teachers and school personnel to call students by their chosen name, took place back in August. During the reading, the Equality Alliance was concerned about whether or not transgender students would be protected. President of the School Board Susan Pannunzio had concerns about a student changing their name more frequently than in one school year with no parental consent required and pitched the idea of having some kind of form to keep parents and the school updated.“
