The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a nationwide assessment administered in the United States that measures student performance in various subjects, including mathematics, reading, science, and writing. Often referred to as the “Nation’s Report Card,” NAEP provides critical data on student achievement across different states and demographic groups, allowing for comparisons over time and among various educational systems. Established in 1969, NAEP is conducted periodically and plays a vital role in informing policymakers, educators, and the public about the state of education in the country.
