New Book: Manufactured Outrage: The Conservative Industrial Complex’s War on Education and How to Fight Back

Sept. 2026

A new book by four education professors uncovers a coordinated effort by conservative groups to reshape Public Education. According to the authors, a powerful network of for-profit, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations—bolstered by think tanks and major corporate donors—is working to advance policies that undermine public education. Prominent among these initiatives are school choice, vouchers, and microschools, all of which, the authors argue, are designed to divert students from public schools. This book sheds light on the complex web of influence at play and raises critical questions about the future of public education.

The ebook version is currently available for purchase; the paperback will be available October 13, 2026.
